We've never really had a problem with my 2 year old going to bed. On the contrary, we actually have a hard time keeping her awake so she'll stop waking the entire house up at 5:30 every morning (if we're lucky, that is). That was until recently when my 6 year old used monsters as a lure to get her out of her room. Now, not only does she wake up at 5:30 am, we have to negotiate at bed time because of monsters, shadows and a creepy big sisters. I can't handle the fight at both ends. If you're going to wake up at 5:30 in the morning, you are going to bed w/out a fight. Period!

The Great Baby Escape. Now What?

My two year old now climbs out of the crib. She opens the door with a crash and yells, "Baby wake up" as loud as she can. Kind of like a proud TA DA! I bet her hands are up in the air with jazz hands. She then goes room by room yelling "BABY WAKE UP" making sure everyone else is awake and ready to tell her good job. At 5:30 am.

What's The Difference Between Telling And Tattling?

My first grader came home yesterday with a little printout sent home from the school. It was a chart about the difference between telling on someone and tattling on someone. I'm assuming it went out to everyone and wasn't specifically for my daughter because she's more of the peace-maker vs. the tattle tale. I thought this was a fantastic note to include the parents on because I often don't know the difference and find myself saying, "no one likes a tattle tale." It's nice to have something more constructive.
