We've had an unusually cold winter here in Portland. For me that normally means not only dry skin but dull, red and broken out skin. Thanks to a few key helpers over the last few months, I have actually gotten through the season and feel like I'm finally winning my fresh face battle. Considering I was a teenager 25+ years ago... it's about time! Here are some of the face & body favs in my arsenal right now:
bareMinerals Complexion Rescue™ Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream
I use Vanilla & apply it with a blending brush. It's a luxurious tinted moisturizer that spreads & blends beautify with a dewy glow to it. It's extra radiant with the Flawless Skin Fluid moisturizer (next item). $29.50
Doctor D. Schwab Flawless Skin Fluid
I discovered this lightweight moisturizer in my first Fab Fit Fun box & I LOVE it under makeup. It has a slight tint to it (very slight) and a little sparkle. They need to put this in a pump vs. a tube- it's a little messy sometimes but still amazing. $39.
LED Photon Mask
I've used this daily since Christmas (thanks mom). Shrinks pores, wrinkles & sun spots. My mask has 3 lights. It took about 3 weeks to start seeing results but once I noticed changes and barely any breakouts I was hooked. More colors seemed great at first but doing 10 mins of 3 colors a day is enough for me. From what I've gathered on what each light does it's: red to boost collagen and promote healing, green for sun spots & blue to kill bacteria and combat acne. Mine is branded Pro Nu (link to similar looking one on amazon below) but there are several that look the same w/different brands. It's a little heavy so if you can find one that's lightweight, I'd recommend that.
St. Tropez Bronzing Mouse
This is my go-to self tanner. It is very easy to apply (I highly recommend getting the mitt), dries fast and has a beautiful natural color. A little color is a great pick me up mid winter but I use this year round. $32 for 4 ounces - $42 for 8 ounces.
Elite Serum RX
I was sent this one last summer and didn't realize how much I loved it until I stopped using it. I thought the injection style bottle was just a gimmick but I actually really like the dispenser. It makes it easy to get just the right amount & it's more hygienic (which is important around your eyes). Travels well too. It's slightly tacky when it's drying but in a good way. You can feel it doing something! I've noticed it helps with bags and I just feel like I look more awake when I use it regularly. It's not the cheapest serum ($89.95) but does last a long time (I'm going on 6+ months on what I believe was supposed to last me a month). There is a subscribe and save option ($59.95) to bring the price down too.
