It's Still Hat Season! Going Nuts For Etsy's KnitNut By JL

Tags review , owl , hats , handmade , etsy , accessories Blogged By posh { Comment (2) }

KnitNut By JL on Etsy

Crochet hats were a huge obsession for me this fall. Especially super funky ones like sock monkeys, owls, flying pigs and angry birds.

With all our trips back and forth to our seemingly miles away bus stop and the myriad of events were baby sister had to tag along, quickly throwing on one of her hats kept Hadley warm and cozy plus the center of attention. We never left the house with out one of Hadley's signature hats!

It's getting harder and harder to get her to wear them now (she wants to play with them) but I still try and have 3 older kids who will happily wear their funky handmade creations.

One of my favorite hats was an Angry Bird inspired flying pig hat & super soft owl hat from KnitNutbyJL on Etsy. I found KnitNutByJL originally through Heartsy (my fav place to find Etsy deals) but at $10-$12 a hat, they are already a great deal! Jill was great at creating a custom order for me and we love our hats.

Leg Warmers Are So 3 Decades Ago

LegRuffles Hip Leg Warmers from Huggalugs

A couple years ago, whenever we'd try to dress our daughter up a little girly, with what little vocab & body language she had, she'd shut us down. She'd reply with her arms bulging out in a rowing motion similar to someone showing how their belly growing, "I don't want to be like this." It took us a while but we figured out that like this meant wearing puffy or filly clothes. Yikes, I had a tomboy. Nothing a little ballet lesson or two couldn't cure.

Around the time she turned 4 (gasp, finally), she started to enjoy some of the more girlie things in life and not just rolling in the mud or doing whatever her big brother was doing. Those ballet lessons paid off. Now with three little girls we are drowning in pink ruffles and lace.

So I, always being on the look out for the fancier version of trendy accessories, am loving these adorable LegRuffles. LegRuffles, the posh cousin of leg warmers from Huggalugs, are legwarmers knitted with a cotton blend yarn giving them a soft flowing feel. Such a fun winter accessory and a great way to add extra frill to any like this outfit! $12 @ HuggalugsUSA.Com

It's love. Petunia Pickle Bottom + iPhone Travel Through Tivoli case

I have a huge crush on Petunia Pickle Bottom. So much so that I ordered an extra Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bag for a very lucky Posh Little Blog reader in an upcoming giveaway (stay tuned in the upcoming weeks for details or sign up for blog alerts via email).

It's been my diaper bag brand for 2 of my 4 babies. First I had a Boxy Backpack and now I'm sporting the Petunia Pickle Bottom Cake Society Satchel. They're gorgeous diaper bags and are pretty much guaranteed to get compliments on every outing.

Majestic Murano, Frolicking in Fez & Lively La Pas Petunia Pickle Bottom Adorn iPhone Covers

Another one of my favorite things is my iPhone. So of course I was dieing when I saw that Petunia Pickle Bottom released iPhone covers! A line of amazing, stunning and modern iPhone cases.

These covers are made for the iPhone 4 and I still had the iPhone 3S. But thanks to a very convenient midnight feeding, I was first in line to pre-ordered the 4s online Friday morning and it's already on it's way. I've already received my PPB case (it was sold out at LayLa Grace so I snagged it for $1 more at Amazon) so my fingers are crossed that it will fit the 4S as well. I got the red one, it's a little darker red then pictured but still very pretty.

Who says beggars can't be choosers? Just because you are using borrowed, the wrong color or hand-me-down baby gear doesn't mean you can't express your own style or change up the color scheme. With infant car seats ranging anywhere from $60 - $250+, if don't have to buy one but need a change, that's your budget for a new infant car seat cover! (Yes, I can justify any purchase).

Baby Giraffes Have Always Been Cute. Now... They're Rad!

Baby Giraffes Have Always Been Cute... But Now They Are Rad!

You know how babies like to throw things on the floor? Or you just want to keep a favorite toy close to baby? I've discovered a wonderful tool that keeps your baby's toy off the ground and always with in their reach... regardless of where they are!

It's called the BabyGiraffe. It's a super handy clip/arm thingamajig that goes wherever baby does and can hold a toy or one of the BabyGiraffe accessories (mirror or bottle holder). The clip part of it is very strong and it's all covered with a washable, very soft and chic looking giraffe fabric.

I clip it to Hadley's car seat, the changing table, stroller, the pack-n-play, the crib and now even to the coffee table that she always seems to gravitate towards during floor time. She's never been able to pull it loose so it's become a trusty sidekick for me.

I first discovered how useful it was on the pack-n-play (play pen, porti-crib, etc). I used the BabyGiraffe kind of like a mobile when she was on the changing table portion of it. Then I would scoot her over the bassinet part and just bend the BabyGiraffe over a little so she could see it there as well. Now that I have removed the bassinet accessory, I can still do the same because it can bend and reach down to the bottom play area just as easily.

More Stroller Storage With Out Getting A New Stroller

Tags travel , stroller , organization , gadgets , accessories Blogged By posh { Comment (4) }

The Mommy Hook - Stroller Hook

It's almost kind of humorous how we are constantly challenging our strollers to see how much extra stuff they can handle. Cup holders, cell phone holders, extra seats or stands for more kids and so on. Like tricking out a car or beefing up a stereo system. Even if we bought it with all the bells and whistles, once you use it a little... we always find room for improvement.

And that's OK! We need the extra storage, the extra hands and it's practical to get as much use out of our gear as possible, right? Not having to carry anything while pushing a stroller is not only safer but makes the stroll more enjoyable with our little ones.

Opens easy & portable

Here's a fantastic stroller accessory that allows you to easily add and grab your purse, shopping bags, diaper bags and anything else that can hang and attach it to any stroller. The Mommy Hook by Mom Dad and Baby. Made from heavy-duty aluminum, this over-sized yet light weight carabiner easily hooks onto your stroller handle to give you a quick and carefree way to attach any extra hangables to your stroller. Thanks to it's padded handle, you can unsnap it from the stroller (leaving all your bags on it) for easy one-handed transport of everything off the stroller. It's clever, simple and you get one for less than $8.

Ribbies: Posh Little Clippies {Win It}

Tags Win It Wednesday , hair clips , accessories Blogged By posh { Comment (3) }

The last time I set out hair clip hunting for my two girls, I ended up at the grocery store just buying no-grip pigtails. That means I gave up. With two girls who lose or ruin more things than I can count, spending $6 - $15 per clip just isn't an option...at least when trying to buy in bulk!

Ribbies Clippies Pairs & Clip Sets

So I am excited to have found Ribbies Clippies. Created by two (grown up) sisters, Kim & Kristen, Ribbies has outgrown it's kitchen table beginnings to a company with a manufacturer, a fulfillment center and distributors in 9 countries. Why? Because they are doing something they love and they are doing it right. A) they sell sets of quality clips (2-5) at very reasonable prices. B) They use hip and colorful designs that can match to a variety of kids clothes. C) The foam grip makes the easy to clip clips, stay put.

Ribbies Childrens Headbands

Shown above: Clippie Pairs - 2 clips ($5), Clippie Sets - 5 clips ($12), Headbands - Grosgrain Flower Headbands for 2t+ or Soft Ribbon Headbands for 3 months+ ($5 - $10). Shown below: Clippie Cases - holds up to 14 clips; compact size that's just a smidge larger than a credit card when folded ($9).

Floors Are For Feet

Tags used it , mothers day , accessories Blogged By posh { Comment (1) }

Luxe Link Purse Holder

I never really considered myself a bag snob until the other night at dinner a waiter wanted to snag the extra chair at our table. At first I thought, sure.. no problem. But then I looked at the extra chair and realized that my white sateen Coach bag was using it. Apparently, they didn't realize and I had forgotten that the chair was actually very busy. I begrudgingly forced out a smile, let the "sure" slip out and placed my Coach on the *gasp* floor.

I was not only glancing down at my bag every 30 seconds to make sure no one was grabbing it, my thoughts of it on the floor brought me back to the days of not letting my baby touch the ground in a public place. As with baby and dirt issues, a mom sometimes has to let go a little and know that it really is going to be OK. Breathe, enjoy dinner and just concentrate on mom's night out!

When I got home, I started kicking myself about a little trinket that I had gotten a few weeks earlier but just hadn't gotten around to using or appreciating. I had a purse hook! I had a fancy little Pink Swarovski purse hook from Luxe Link that would of been exactly what I needed to save my baby.. I mean bag from the icky floor. The Luxe Link is a small clasp that you attach to your purse. When not in use it gives your bag a little extra bling. When your sitting at a table, you open it up and it turns into a hook that holds your bag. It keep's your purse or diaper bag off the floor and right next to you! It's simple, it's cute and helps calm your jittery bag snob nerves! $35 - $79 @ LuxeLink.Com
