Crochet hats were a huge obsession for me this fall. Especially super funky ones like sock monkeys, owls, flying pigs and angry birds.
With all our trips back and forth to our seemingly miles away bus stop and the myriad of events were baby sister had to tag along, quickly throwing on one of her hats kept Hadley warm and cozy plus the center of attention. We never left the house with out one of Hadley's signature hats!
It's getting harder and harder to get her to wear them now (she wants to play with them) but I still try and have 3 older kids who will happily wear their funky handmade creations.
One of my favorite hats was an Angry Bird inspired flying pig hat & super soft owl hat from KnitNutbyJL on Etsy. I found KnitNutByJL originally through Heartsy (my fav place to find Etsy deals) but at $10-$12 a hat, they are already a great deal! Jill was great at creating a custom order for me and we love our hats.

My walls are covered in canvas art and I love canvas because: A) I found it's a great way to add large amounts of color or pizzazz to a white wall {when your landlord or hubby won't let you paint}; B) canvas always seems easier to hang than frames; C) canvas art just looks sooo good! I love canvas in the kids rooms, playroom and nursery especially. It's a fantastic alternative to framed art or pictures and you can do so much with them.

So I was beyond thrilled when Piecemaker Studio sent this amazing modern Canvas Keepsake. I have all sorts of canvas paintings, both purchased and DIY (mostly DIY that have been repainted several times). But I didn't have a anything like this.
The birth announcement like style is such a treasure. I love it and it is fun addition to the nursery. It's 16" x 20" so a substantial sized canvas. The mix of modern and cutesy fonts is perfect and I love the colors. When you order it, you get to pick between a monkey, lamb or owl for the character. All 3 are pretty cute so it's a tough call. I chose the lamb. Cute, huh? $65 at PiecemakerStudio.Com or find them on Etsy. Read on for a chance to win one...

A few years back I tackled organizing my daughters closet by mimicking what works... clothing racks at the store. You know how they have those clothing dividers that separate newborn clothes from 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months and so on? I found some, organized a whole years worth of close all ready for my daughter to grow into in her closet and of course blogged about it.
Back then, I could only find one brand of what I would call cute. It was hard to find but I was on a mission. It's my thing and the vision behind my blog. Take an everyday baby necessity and find a hipper version. There is always a cooler one out there. You just have to dig.
Pictured above: Woodland Forest Friends Closet Dividers - set of 5 ($13.50); Owl Boutique Digital Closet Dividers - download & print ($2.99).
Since I am again organizing a nursery closet, I am revisiting my closet divider strategy in a round up. It's a lot easier now because there are so many more choices for cute dividers in all sorts of styles.

A perk of manually reviewing new members form my mommy blog directory, TopMommyBlogs.Com, is finding inspiring DIY posts like this DIY Halloween post from Brooke of Brookies Baby Bargains. She wrote this DIY Halloween wooden boo letter decoration post for the Roberts Crafts blog and I'm inspired! I'll be tackling this project with my kids when they get home from school today and thought I would pass on the inspiration with a little Halloween Wooden Letter roundup in the meantime.
If you're looking for a little more Halloween DIY letter inspiration (I know I am).. I'll keep going!

Here's a cute project to do if you can't find wooden letters or just want to DIY it a little more. The pictured above Boo Halloween Blocks by Jamie over at TheCraftingChicks.Com is a combo of wooden blocks, ribbon, paint and printed letters. See the full post with instructions here...
And of course if you're not feeling very crafty, no problem. Here are some DFY (done for you) Halloween letters.

I'm so excited about this little gem of a deal I got today from Heartsy. These adorable, tiny and sweet little infant shoes from Etsy shop Tilly Whistle. While I got one of the last gift vouchers through Heartsy giving me 50% off, Tilly Whistle is a shop I wanted to share because of how cute these baby shoes are.
If you're not familiar with Heartsy, it's a flash sale site exclusively for Etsy shops. If you're not familiar with Etsy, Etsy.Com is a handmade market place selling all sorts of treasures and one of my favorite places to find baby things like bibs and burp rags, jewelry, hats and other accessories for me and the kids.
Everyday Heartsy features about 4 Etsy shops and lets you buy a gift voucher for yourself and/or your friends for at least 50% off. I've gotten several amazing deals so far and have found this to be a very affordable way to check out different shops.

It's no secret I have a serious Etsy addiction lately in addition to a new baby. Which works well since my baby has some hair issues (what newborn doesn't) and I know Etsy is a great place to find some amazing hats for little Hadley. One of my latest purchases is from JeabMade and I'm dying! I've gotten so many compliments about this adorable crochet beanie so in addition to another beanie for Hadley in the next size up, I also got two more for my 4 and 5 year old girls so they can all match. I'm a slave to coordination!

Hats, sized up to preteen, start at around $17. I received my first hat about a week and 1/2 after purchase (which I think is quick).

I've been on a shopping rampage lately and have discovered tons of amazing handmade treasures at one of my favorite online shopping destinations... Etsy. While I am mostly shopping for my newborn little girl, I always keep my eyes out for fun and special goodies for boys.

I could not stop coming back to these adorable 100% acrylic yarn knit beanie & onsie sets with matching felt appliqués from Rocking Horse Lane. While I think the colors and themes are primarily geared more towards boys, I am eyeing the elephant set below for my little Hadley. Maybe matched with a pair of pink pants.. what do you think?

With 3 girls, I've always thought you can never have to many hair clippies. Well it turns out, if you don't have a good place to store them, you can. I find myself spending anywhere from $1 to $16 dollars for hair clips and so I go bananas when I find them littering the floors.
So I big time heart creations like ClippieHolders from Everyday Clippies. Made from CARB certified wood harvested from sustainable forests, these beautifully crafted hair clip holders (table top or hanging version) are a fantastic solution to display all you child's hair clips and keep them organized. Either version can be easily positioned to keep them in our out of reach of the kids.
And of course, you've gotta have some adorable hair clips to store on your Clippie Holder! Visit Everyday Clippies Etsy shop for sweet clippies and pacifier clips too.
Giveaway Update: This giveaway is now closed. Congrats winner Sarah M!
Enter To Win: One lucky winner, chosen at random, will receive an Original Desktop CLIPPIEHOLDER in Natural. This countertop ClippieHolder is gorgeous left natural or you can paint tit to match your own decor. $14.95 value. Open to US residents, 18+. Giveaway ends 4/30/2011.

Craft time is one of the happiest times of the day for my kids as well as one of the most stressful for me. The clean up time that goes along with this daily dose of fun often outlasts the time spent on the activity itself. Usually that is because my little Picassos' can't contain their imagination to their paper so the walls, floors and toys fall victim as well.
When Etsy artist and shop owner Jessica approached me about reviewing her Just Add Water, Paint Kits I was delighted to. These sweet and original illustrations come pre-prepped with water soluble color that your little one smears around with a wet paint brush. All you need is water and a brush. They are wonderful and completely mess free!
Each kit contains a set of four (5 x 7 90 lb watercolor paper) for $3.50 @ Mariposas.Etsy.Com
WIN A SET!
Leave a comment about your favorite Kids Art Kit from Mariposas and you may be the random winner one! Giveaway ends Feb 24th midnight (PST) and open to US residents. Good luck!
