Our family happened to move into our wonderful neighborhood in late October a few years back. I was surrounded by pregnant neighbors (there were 4 of us in 2 blocks) and families with young children which was a big change from our last neighborhood. One of the first treats we discovered about living in such a young and social neighborhood was being boo'ed (booed). 

It was a dark and storm afternoon. Just a few days before Halloween I scrambled to the now familiar sound of unexpected visitors knocking on the door during nap time. As I rushed to the door to hush the two franticly barking dogs before the commotion woke up my napping toddlers, I could see the would-be troublemaker dashing away. When I opened the door I was quickly over the frustration of all the commotion because I found my 7 month pregnant self staring down at a giant plate of sugar cookies, rice crispy treats and Reeses Pieces!

I'd been Boo'd. A sneaky neighbor had left a plate of goodies with a poem attached letting me know that "You've Been Booed" and that I needed to Boo two other neighbors. It's like a candy chain letter with out the threat of 7 years bad luck. How could I not? I had been graciously given a good 15 mins of pregnancy heaven. It was probably a 5 day supply of candy and cookies for a normal person but I had to hurry up and eat it all before the kids woke up. You know, cavities and all.
