But it tastes so right! It's a new year and we should be setting our weight loss resolutions, right? Heck, what's a few more days of sugary bliss :-)

Growing up, my mother never made cookies. She made bars. My sister and I always blamed the un-traditionally square cookies on her being French Canadian and a hippy (we just blamed everything on that). Really, it was because she was a busy and clever mom.  So my dilemma of wanting both cookies and brownies with out spending the entire day cooking was squashed after a little trip down memory lane and some pondering of What Would Nana Do? Brownie Cookie Bars! And so we bake.

I used to spend my quiet mornings blogging or catching up on other baby blogs (they are addicting). Then, probably in a wine induced moment, I decided to start a few new project to help my fellow mom bloggers share their blogs. So, in addition to this blog, I now also run the super popular Top Mommy Blogs & Top Baby Bogs directories. This gives me (and you) a front row seat to some of the coolest blogs as well as what's buzzing in parenthood.

I love the look on my kids face when we bring home cupcakes. I don't know if it's the mound of frosting or the fun topper but something about a cupcake really makes their little eyes light up with delight.

What's even better of course, is letting them make their own cupcake creations. This Halloween we stocked up on really fun cup cake kits that we found from several different places (mostly local shops) since the kids all want to take cupcakes to their Halloween parties. These were so much fun I wanted to share some more that I found online. 

With Halloween a few days away, it's time to plan your fun and festive table top for this weekends trick or treat party. If your looking for a bargain, now is an excellent time to not only grab any last minute decorations but a great time to save while you stock up for next year.
