My walls are covered in canvas art and I love canvas because: A) I found it's a great way to add large amounts of color or pizzazz to a white wall {when your landlord or hubby won't let you paint}; B) canvas always seems easier to hang than frames; C) canvas art just looks sooo good! I love canvas in the kids rooms, playroom and nursery especially. It's a fantastic alternative to framed art or pictures and you can do so much with them.

Win A Birth Announcement Name Frame from Element 120 Designs

I absolutely love the idea of these photo name frames. Each letter is a photograph of a different architectural or design element. It's a stylish and subtle way to display a name (first or last) as well as a modern alternative to wooden letters.

So I'm quiet excited (OK envious too) to launch today's Win It Wednesday Giveaway from Element 120 Designs. They are giving one of my fabulous readers (that's you) a Birth Announcement Photography Name Frame (up to 8 letters). Valued at $94.99.

It's All About Cake Pops & Mustaches

I used to spend my quiet mornings blogging or catching up on other baby blogs (they are addicting). Then, probably in a wine induced moment, I decided to start a few new project to help my fellow mom bloggers share their blogs. So, in addition to this blog, I now also run the super popular Top Mommy Blogs & Top Baby Bogs directories. This gives me (and you) a front row seat to some of the coolest blogs as well as what's buzzing in parenthood.

London Mummy Calling...

Field trip time! We're taking a little trip across the pond to London Mummy, a fabulous and unique London based online children's boutique. It was originally the funky lunch box sets and iconic London city-scape pillows that caught my attention but the baby shoes, crochet toys and accessories from Anne Claire Petit and the myriad of other brightly colored and unique items kept me busy and browsing.

Pictured above: Retro Robots Lunch Set (£29.50; approx $48); Michelle Mason London Cushions (£45.00; approx $73); London Tea Towel; Drawstring Storage Bags (£25.00; approx $41); Mushroom Money Box (£49.50; approx $80).

Who Said Bookends Can't Be Fun?

Bookends are generally not a very exciting aspect of decorating a kids rooms or maybe not even thought about until you graduate from board books. When you find the need for bookends, you will probably see a lot of wooden or heavy plastic varieties.

I love the idea of having a stuffed animal prop up the kids books! My kids pull down everything they can off shelves so minimizing the things that can cause injury when falling off the shelves is crucial.

Trendy Toadstools! Kids mushroom furniture, decor & more

You'd never really think that a fungus could be a fun way to decorate. But cute little mushrooms are popping up in kids rooms and nurseries like fungus. Maybe it's the next nostalgic revival item from our youth (don't deny it, your parents had a macrame owl in the hallway). This mini trend is a great counterpart to owl or forest themed nurseries.

Funky Find: Greenman Solar Lamp

Look Ma. No Chord! Solar powered & cordless Greenman Lamp

There is one good thing about a cord. It will keep certain items in place. Unlike my cell and cordless phones, I will always know where my corded (yes they still exist) landline phone is. But letting go a little control in return for saving on energy costs as well as using an eco-friendly product is well worth it.

The Greenman lamp, which is made from eco-friendly bio-plastic corn and trimmed off with bamboo, is a fun and modern looking lamp that's cordless. It's solar powered so you power the lamp by flipping it over during the day. This has been a very tricky item to chase down a place to buy it. While I couldn't find a US distributor, I did find one that ships internationally. $54 (approx) @ MadeInDesign.Co.Uk
