Every since I discovered crooked cakes (topsy turvy cakes) while planning my wedding, I have been absolutely obsessed with Alice In Wonderland themed anything. If my husband hadn't stopped me, we probably would of had a Mad Hatter themed wedding. My one year old son on the other hand *insert evil laugh here* didn't stand a chance on his first birthday or when it came to furnishing and decorating his room.

Even though I got my chance at whimsical decorating and party planning, I still get such a kick out of furniture and decor like this! While yes it is on pricey side, these crooked pieces of furniture from Dust Furniture are amazing and inspiring.

My husband and I have always been afraid of stuffed animals. Mostly because they seem to multiply like tribbles *sneak in a Star Trek reference into a blog post, check* and outside of the bed, never really seem to have a home.

You'd never really think that a fungus could be a fun way to decorate. But cute little mushrooms are popping up in kids rooms and nurseries like fungus. Maybe it's the next nostalgic revival item from our youth (don't deny it, your parents had a macrame owl in the hallway). This mini trend is a great counterpart to owl or forest themed nurseries.

Sticking to a theme while planning a nursery can be a blessing and a curse. A forest theme seems simple enough but when you stumble upon an amazing piece of furniture like this that's hand made and so adorably unique, it can be very hard to remember your budget. When it comes to our babies, budget shmudget!

High chairs are not an easy item to hide, let someone borrow or take with you anywhere. I felt like quite the silly nilly recently when I was wheeling a neighbors high chair up the street to my house. It was too big to carry and very cumbersome to get up my many porch steps. It wasn't an easy exchange but I had to have one for a visit from my 6 month old nephew. I managed but oh, the things us aunties do!
