Summer vacation is finally here. I've got my kids scheduled in a bunch of camps and classes over the summer but we also will have a lot of down time. So I'm stocking the house and the yard with as many activities and projects I can think of to keep them busy, working together and keeping their creative juices running until they go back to school.

You'd never really think that a fungus could be a fun way to decorate. But cute little mushrooms are popping up in kids rooms and nurseries like fungus. Maybe it's the next nostalgic revival item from our youth (don't deny it, your parents had a macrame owl in the hallway). This mini trend is a great counterpart to owl or forest themed nurseries.

My 2, 4 and 6 year old kids have been spending hours coloring, painting and playing with our eco-friendly paint-able cardboard schoolhouse from Imagination Box Co.
